I'm Emilee, a photographer and creative based in Marquette, Michigan. I spend my days photographing beautiful humans and helping share the stories they want to tell.

My work centers around the connection between people, places, and the feeling of being present in a moment. I care deeply about what I do and about the people who trust me with their visions. I enjoy a bit of tomfoolery; I’m quick with the jokes and can throw down a dance move or two. I know when to step in with direction and when to step back and let a moment unfold on its own.

When I’m not hunched over my computer editing or answering emails, I’m probably outside somewhere, near the water, yelling at someone to look at the moon, or chasing whatever sunlight the Upper Peninsula decides to give us. I share this life with my partner Ryan and our two pups, Lenny and Taya. They’re my whole world. Marquette is home, and the landscape here shapes the way I see and photograph the world, and the humans who want to come along with me..

Located in the heart of downtown Marquette, Michigan, Way North Studio offers a comfortable, professional space for branding, headshots, portraits, products, and content creation!

As a creative duo passionate about capturing stories, we’re so excited to have a place to call home on Front Street in downtown Marquette. Way North Studio is where we work, create, meet with clients, and bring ideas to life. With professional lighting, backdrops, and a cozy, welcoming space, we can photograph everything from branding sessions and headshots to family photos and creative projects, no matter the season. As we continue to grow, we're looking forward to opening the studio for other photographers and creatives to rent, creating a space where our community can make, connect, and create together.

The name Way North Studio reflects our journey and where we call home, further north than 50% of Canada, nestled in a place that draws adventurers and dreamers alike. We believe heading north is more than a direction; it’s a mindset, a journey filled with discovery and unforgettable moments. Having this space allows us to grow our business, collaborate with our community, and help clients celebrate their own journeys. After all, “we’re all on a journey, and ours is north.”
