I’m Emilee!!

I live and work in Marquette, Michigan, photographing beautiful humans and helping share the stories they want to tell.

My work centers around connection, between people, places, and the feeling of being present in a moment. I care deeply about what I do and about the people who trust me with their visions. I enjoy a bit of tomfoolery, I’m quick with the jokes, and can throw down a dance move or two. I know when to step in with direction and when to step back and let a moment unfold on its own.

When I’m not hunched over my computer editing or answering emails, I’m probably outside somewhere, near the water, yelling at someone to look at the moon, or chasing whatever sunlight the Upper Peninsula decides to give us. I share this life with my partner Ryan and our two pups, Lenny and Taya. They’re my whole world. Marquette is home, and the landscape here shapes the way I see and photograph the world, and the humans who want to come along with me..

WAY NORTH STUDIO

Our newly opened photo and video studio is right here in Marquette, MI! As a creative duo passionate about capturing stories, we’ve poured our hearts into renovating this space throughout 2023, making it a hub for artistic expression and connection. Being part of the SOMA community has been an incredible experience, and we love sharing our walls with other local artists while showcasing our craft. Our studio is more than just a workspace; it’s a platform for creating meaningful portraits, dynamic marketing content, and so much more.

The name Way North Studio reflects our journey and where we call home, further north than 50% of Canada, nestled in a place that draws adventurers and dreamers alike. We believe heading north is more than a direction; it’s a mindset, a journey filled with discovery and unforgettable moments. Having this space allows us to grow our business, collaborate with our community, and help clients celebrate their own journeys. After all, “we’re all on a journey, and ours is north.”
